"You’re future depend on you, take the opportunity and be what ever you want be in future."
For one of our activities this November, we decided to take on a miniature project in our teen program modeled after Brandon Stanton's Humans of New York. We asked each of our students a question: advice they would give, something interesting about them, or what they wanted to tell the world. Then we took their picture. The next few posts will feature the photos and quotes our students shared with us.
Those of you who haven't experienced the glory that is HONY, I encourage you to check it out at http://www.humansofnewyork.com/ Hello, world! We are the Historic Scott School Community Center and this is our after school program. We serve youth living in the South Salt Lake area from first graders to high school seniors.
The Historic Scott School is the oldest continuously operating school in the Salt Lake Valley, and we are striving to build on that culture of education with our teen and elementary programs. Working as a Promise South Salt Lake center we foster the success of South Salt Lake youth and families in creating pathways to higher education. We do this by delivering quality activities to promote college and career readiness, facilitating personal community engagement, and by providing resources, people, and programs that support youth, family, and community success. |
